I'm bored, here's some nostalgia
I've not been feeling too great the last few days, and I'm starting to tire of sitting in bed watching TV. So I started watching some of the videos I have from YSTV, the student TV station I was involved in at York Uni. Because I feel like it, here's an extended ident/promo thingy called "YSTV World" with dodgy audio by me and pretty cool graphics by Steve Waker.
Ex BBC Three controller to head Sky1
Stuart Murphy has been named as the new director of programmes for Sky1, Sky2 and Sky3.
Ah, Stuart Murphy. The man who once called a student TV show I was producing "crap" :-)
10 Videos You Should See (Part II)
Last week I shared with you 5 of my top 10 web videos you should watch. They ranged from the funny to the thought-provoking, and today I shall complete the set with another five.
2008: A Year In Pictures
As a year draws to a close, its always tempting to look back over the last 12 months and consider how they've been. 2008 has been an eventful and enjoyable year for me, and I'd like to share a few snapshots of what my year has been like. These aren't necessarily the best photos I've taken, or even the most important events of the year, but they're a set of windows into the last few months which I hope you'll enjoy.
The Good, The Bad and The Geeky
Three weeks ago, I started my shiny new job with the British Broadcasting Corporation. Many people have since asked me how it's going, and I've done my best to tell them a bit, but basically I've been a bit rubbish about sharing information about it. So here goes...
YSTV40:Rowan04
YSTV40:Rowan04 Hmm... Sounds like some kind of sports score. What I actually mean is that YSTV is now in its fortieth year, just as I finish my fourth year at YSTV.
Saturday night was the culmination of a lot of hard work - the YSTV40 "birthday party".
The End Of The Line
It's slightly ironic (though a little cold-hearted) to consider that trains all over the country are stopping, being cancelled and generally not running, just as I myself am coming to the end of the line at University. A lot has happened in the last couple of weeks. Where to begin?!
After handing in my final project report, and being thoroughly underwhelmed, I prepared for my final presentation and project viva.
Marriages, Magic wands and Meseum
I've been a little lax about posting on this delightful little web log recently, so apologies. Here's a little update (or possibly a big one, we'll see...)
Yesterday I went to the second wedding I've attended this year. The first was that of my friends Emma and Ben, down in Sussex. That was a nice little ceremony in Lewes, followed by a fantastically relaxed lunch (bangers and mash - score!)
When I Was 22...
...it was a very good year. No, it actually was. Well OK, is.
It all started pretty well with my best set of uni results ever, an awesome week's holiday with friends and a great summer. 2 weeks sailing in Turkey was one of the best holidays ever, and then my 4th year at uni has been pretty OK too. But most of all, my big news...
For anyone who hasn't had the pleasure of seeing or speaking to me in the last week, I have a job! Woo!
Custard and Canal Boats
Well I promised more news soon, and it's been a while, so here goes. I apologise, by the way, for the custard theme which seems to be emerging in this blog. It's worrying me slightly...
Well it's been a big few weeks. YSTV's annual student union elections coverage rocked and was a huge amount of fun, though very tiring. Job hunting has continued, and I got asked for another interview. More on that story later...
